Rainy day here. I had the most adventurous day! But first:
Workout:
I was quite motivated this morning, so I went to the gym and did some light weights
Bicep curls- 8lbs- 3 sets of 10
Chest Press- 8lbs- 3 sets of 10
Chest Flys- 8lbs- 2 sets of 10
Triceps- 8lbs- 2 sets of 8
Should Press and lunges- 8lbs-3 sets of 8
Miltary Press and Squat (JILLIAN!!)- 8lbs- 2 sets of 10
V Raise and Squats..aka death...- 5lbs- 2 sets of 12
Then I did some leg presses, inner and outter thigh machine, quad lifts
And then 10 easy min on the reclined bike while I read O magazine...I don't even like it but it sucked me in.
Then, it was RIDICULOUSLY raining so I went back to the gym for a 3mile run on the treadmill. I HATE the treadmill. I DESPISE it. I think it is torturous. terrible. hard. boring.
Distance: 2.56miles (couldn't even do 3...hope pathetic)
Time: 25.02 min
However..I'm proud that I did it. I could have just gone home but instead I went to the gym.
NOSH:
Breakfast was PB&J/Trail Mix oats:
- 1/2c oatmeal, 1c water
- 2tsp natural pb
- 2tsp nat. jelly
- 2tbsp trail mix
- mix mix mix
No time for a mid morning snack..went to this new place called Designer Greens for lunch. They have one in O-town too. It was good...however...I was starving after I ate it. It just wasn't enough calories. I figure the chicken and avocado were really the only substantial items. I also know that I do best with a carb...like whole wheat bread or a wrap in addition to lunch.
So, I created me own salad with:
- carrots
- onions
- cucumbers
- egg whites (the girl looked at my like I was crazy when I asked her to ditch the yolk?!?..she couldn't figure out how to pop it out haha)
- Herb chicken (not that great)
- Avocado (this was really good)
- strawberries..2 measly ones!!
- Light Ranch..although all I did was dip my fork a few times.
Please take note of the beastial amount of dressing they give you.
There's a bagel hiding under there :)
Pre-Gym (again) snack
A monster apple and a few almonds. Too bad the apple gave me the worst indigestion. It was painful. Not cool.
Din Din:
- Baked Chicken
- 3/4c brown rice
- zucchini
- mushrooms
- red pepper
- onion
- 1tsp olive oil
- 1.5tbsp sweet thai chili sauce
- Stir Frizzle
Dessert. Apparently I had a huge sweet tooth. However! I kept it in check and I am proud.
- 1/2c stonyfield Dark Chocolate Fro-Yo
- sprinkle dark choco chips
- all nat pb (probably 1tbsp...maybe less)
- 1 square dark choc
GOSSIP/FUN:
Last night, I spent a good amount of time google-ing Reggie Bush and Kim K. I have this odd obsession with "bad"/mysterious boys...ie. atheltes and such....falling for a girl. I think it's soo cute. Im jel. They are by far my fave couple. Weird?
Additionally...Shana and Travis Barker are off again. Really? Like just stop. No one cares.
BODY UPDATE:
So, as I said before, my clothes and body were feeling off lately. I am happy to report that just after 3 days...I feel better! I feel stronger and more fit! yay! I also feel more in control of my eating...not just mindlessly eating but really thinking about what I want and need. Like for today, I packed about 20 almonds and an apple...but I just didn't need all of them so I had a few.
I am going for a nice 8miler on Sunday to get ready for my 15k.
I love celeb gossip, a little too much :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you get through your long runs? I feel like running outside is a lot harder for me than running on the treadmill, so I'm probably at the point where I can run about 4 miles outside and about 5-6 on the treadmill...but I cannot bring myself to make it for a long time because I get bored! Usually, I have to incorporate speed intervals to 1-speed up the workout and 2- keep myself from thinking about the fact that I'm running. I have no idea how people build up to run for so long.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel..that's what I used to say to myself...look at me now haha.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for a half marathon and got super motivated. I HAD to do it..so I did.
Sign up for a race! The experience is amazing. Also, running outside gives you a chance to really feel like a runner and enjoy your surrondings! I usually try and pick different routes for my long runs..some go through neighborhoods..some through different terrain (like hills, inclines, flat routes). This will give you a chance to change your speed a bit like on a tread. I also like out and backs..so for instance on a 10miles run...I will run a 2.5out and 2.5 back and then go another 2.5out and 2.5 back on a different route. Its really fun!
I also make an AMAZING mix. Like my fave songs. I have one play list I made for my half called, "YOU CAN DO IT" haha. Just a little motivation.
I really really really recommend running outside!! We can be running buddies. I am telling you...you will feeling amazing after you do a good run outside. Plus..you burn more cals and really develop your running better (atleast thats what I think).
Lastly..sorry this is the longest post ever I just love running..you can do it whenever you want! At night, during the day, in the morning. YOu don't have to drive to the gym and wait for a machine!
Sounds like an awesome AM workout! I really need to do more weight training myself. Designer Greens look so yummy..I love salad bars.
ReplyDeleteYour chicken stir fry looks wonderful!! I see you are using a lot of the Thai chili sauce. What brand?? Is it spicy??
ReplyDeleteWhat is stir frizzle???
haha stir frizzle is stir-fry. I just tried to make it sound cooler. I used 1.5tbsp of the sauce..it was a touch spicy. One time I used 1TBSP and it was not spicy..but this time I wanted more flavor.
ReplyDeleteWhat brand of sauce and where can we buy it??
ReplyDeleteI bought mine a publix (so any major grocery store should have it). It's in the ethnic section..it's called Kikkoman Thai Style Chili Sauce.
ReplyDeleteI admit I love Reggie and Kim as well!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've experienced the same indigestion from eating apples before working out. I was told it's because of their high fiber content. But I've also had the same problem with bananas. My solution has been oranges - they keep my energy up and don't bother my stomach!
ahh thank you for the advice! seriously...with motivation from your post i went outside yesterday and did an out and back but i kept to the same route. I did a two mile one (two miles, came back and then went out again) and then when i came back i ran .65 miles down to a highschool to do hills and stairs and then ran back. It kicked my ass!!! I think it's a lot harder to run outside...i'm guessing that the first few times I get out there will be killer and then hopefully I will start to get better at it. I also think I am in need of some new sneakers. Any suggestions??? Also what music do you have on your playlist? I'm so tired of my ipod that I actually watched the news through my entire three and a half mile run! that tells you a LOT lol.
ReplyDelete(I watched the news during my run today lol ...at the gym.)
